Ill Manors: Print Branding

Key Conventions:
  • Title of Film
  • Central Image/s
  • Director Credits
  • Names of Main Characters
  • Slogan/logline
The logo is the main feature in this poster because it is in the centre and they act like tower blocks which you would find in areas like where the film is set in. This particular logo is widely used in other posters and you will find it in almost every piece of Ill Manors because it is a notable logo which would make it familiar to the audience.

There is synergy between the billboard and the broadcast trailer of the film, as the iLL Manors logo is the primary typeface which is emphasised and is presented throughout the trailer as well as the print advertisements.

Key Conventions:
  • Title of Film
  • Central Images
  • Director Credits
  • Names of Actors
  • Reviews & Star Ratings
  • Directors Block/Credits
The logo is once again in the centre of this whole piece of the poster and the sizing helps identify the branding behind Ill Manors. Across many of the print adverts and even the trailer for Ill Manors, a bold font is used which helps signify a sense of dominance and urbanism. There is consistency of the use of the same font style and size adds to its identity but also creates power towards the youth within the way the poster is signified to the audience.

There is strong synergy and connection between this specific movie poster and the DVD Extra as they both convey the films slogan in a way which is considered significant to the audience.

Key Conventions:
  • Central Logo
  • Social Media
  • Synergy to Plan B's music
  • Release date
  • Social Media
This poster is very simple as it only has a big logo in the centre and the important information is around it. As the film is very-low budget, there are insufficient funds available for advertising, so promoting it using the director and rapper Plan B is very good because it gives it access to a whole new audience. It would help in getting the movie across and familiar to large audiences and would help in reaching the films ideal target audience and would also help in attracting larger audiences, helping widen the films target audience.

There is synergy between the film poster and the film trailer. They both follow a similar path in terms of the information they both display, and the tone and feel of both are of very similar compared to other forms of print media.
