Ill Manors: Print

Men's Health:

The people who would be interested in this magazine would be mainly overweight men who are looking to lose weight and need motivation and tips to do so. By reading the story of someone who is very well known and respected in the music industry and how they went on to lose weight during their career is motivational and could help someone build up motivation to do the same. This article would also attract Plan B's faithful fans and they would be interested in his diet plans and his workout techniques.

The target audience for this article would be more males than females for sure as it's in a magazine fully focused on men. The percentage would be 90/10 to males and the age range from about 25-40 and it would appeal to people in the ABC1 groups. This magazine and this article in particular appeals to mainly aspirers and those who care about their looks.

The weight loss is the major topic which establishes a social interaction between Ben Drew and the audience. He's a big UK artist and that would spark off discussions and debate in the media as it's an article about one of the biggest UK artist. It may also educate the audience, as he talks about how he got motivated to work harder and exercise more and this may be useful information to readers who may also be looking to lose some pounds.

This particular article does allow it to be shared on social media and members of the magazine can leave comments on the bottom of each article. This is very useful for the readers as they can leave their own views on the article and it encourages a social discussion.

NME:

The target audience for this article and interview would be more teenagers than Men's Health and who are mainly fans of Plan B and his musical career. The article is features in a music magazine which seems more appealing to those who are familiar to Plan B's music career, not so much the Men's Health. Young people who see Plan B as someone who represents them might also read the magazine as they would want to see his views as he influences them a lot. However the older reader might be interested and would read this article because they would want to try and understand his mentality and see why the youth might have started the riots. The article is more appealing to people in the BC12 clerical groups. It would again attract more males than females but both genders could be readers of NME magazine. The percentage rate would be 50/50 for the magazine but for this Plan B article it would be 80/20 male. The age range would be about 16-25 year olds and it would appeal more to explorers and reformers.

The article mainly educates and informs the readers more than anything. This is done through the way that Plan B talks about the mindset and viewpoints of the youth and this could be used to educated those who might not entirely be wary of the facts and understand the reasons as to why the riots kicked off. It would most certainly create social interaction as it creates the government in a bad way and reinforces the the stereotype on the youth to some extent.

This interview also allows their members to comment their views in the comment section and share their opinions with everyone. It's also got the ability to share the article to lots of different social medias. This would enable social discussion across various media platforms and would allow the readers and users to comment and portray their views towards the riots and the youth.

There is a lot of synergy between this NME interview and the Ted talk as he focuses entirely on how the youths started the riots and the whole idea on the government's procedures and views on the underclass.

Guardian:

The ideal target audience for this article would be those who are familiar with Plan B and his work. The article describes Plan B's youth and his experience in school and his friends. The long-term fans of Plan B who would most likely read this article as well as regular Guardian readers who may not be familiar with Plan B but know of him may also be encouraged to read the article as it would enable them to get to know the background behind Plan B and also how and where he got to where is today as a very well known and representable UK artist and film directer. It would most likely appeal to both males and females more than the two articles above with a percentage rate of 50/50 and the age range would be about 19-40 year old readers who are in the AB1 clerical groups. It would also appeal to reformers and succeeders.

The article educates and informs the audience through how it explains the life of Plan B to the audience in a series of shorthand techniques. It would also help identify the 'real' persona behind Plan B and may create personal and social relationships and many would be able to relate to Plan B's school and friends experience in his past.

The website allows comments to be left on this article for readers to share their views and opinions on the article. Again, it's possible to share the article on various social media platforms.

There is great synergy between this article and the DVD extras as they both focus on the younger characters and it portrays the struggle and pain through the labelling of the youth.

GQ:

The target audience for this particular interview with Plan B for GQ would be mainly the readers of GQ and the fans and people familiar with Plan B's work and himself. It would be mainly a male dominated again rather than female because this is about a grime rap artist and that genre mainly appeals to males. The percentage rates would be high for men again at 80/20 male to female. The reason for this is that the GQ covers the article in a more male-related such as fashion, sports, technology and health. This would further shape out the ideal target audience for the Plan B article in GQ. The readers would mainly be in a BC1 clerical group and be in well paid jobs. They would be aspirers and succeeders.

This article more than any of the other four offers a sense of escapism and this allows the readers to kind of get rid of the thoughts of their everyday problems and issues and would indulge in the lifestyle of Plan B and his views on the government and the youth. It would also offer a form of entertainment to the audience, as the purpose of a magazine is to entertain and inform the reader. It would also educate and inform the audience through Plan B's perception and his views on the government and youth.

This article again allows comments to be made at the bottom by its readers and uses and there is an option to share the article across social medias. This is a consistent thing with all e-media articles.

There is synergy between this interview with GQ and the radio interview with Fearne Cotton as they mainly focus on Ben Drew's life and his views on different aspects of his life.
